2027 FPTA annual statewide audition event will be hosted at Theatre Lab & Florida Atlantic University's Department of Theatre & Dance in Boca Raton, FL!
FPTA provides actors with the opportunity to audition for multiple Florida-based professional theatres with a single audition! Below is some basic information about our annual statewide audition event. For more in-depth details, please see our FAQ section at the bottom of this page.
Performers should come prepared with:

Acting Callbacks are to be scheduled and held on Zoom or at participating Theatre companies' home locations.

Audition FAQs
You must:

Be at least 18 years old to register

Pay your audition registration fee

Upon paying your registeration fee, you will provided with your unique audition link to sign up for an appointment slot. You will need to upload a portrait letter-size headshot (File formats allowed: JPG, PNG, PDF, DOC, and DOCX only; max size: 3MB.)

Upload a one-page portrait letter-size résumé. (File formats allowed: JPG, PNG, PDF, DOC, and DOCX only; max size: 3MB.)

Select your audition time. Please, only select one audition time appointment.
Note: Please bring ample physical copies of headshots and résumés for callbacks.
Callbacks will be posted based on your audition time (See "When are callbacks?" below for more information). If a company or companies request a callback, place a physical copy of your résumé and headshot in the company's mailbox. Please make sure your contact information and audition number are on each copy of your headshot and résumé.
A company may request your headshot and résumé even if they have not requested a callback. If this is the case, you will be notified at the same time as callbacks are posted. If your headshot and résumé have been requested by a theatre without a callback, place a copy in the theatre company's mailbox.
Please do not put your headshot and résumé in the boxes of theatre companies that have not requested them.

All auditioning actors will have two minutes to perform. With your two minutes, you may choose to perform the

Please, note you will sign up for a 3 minute slot. This allows scheduled time for you to enter and exit your audition. The audition itself is only 2 minutes.

All auditioning actors will have a 2-minute audition time slot. Audition timing will begin immediately after you state your name and number. Time will be called with a “Thank you” at 2 minutes. Please time your audition to ensure you meet the time requirements.
If choosing to sing during your audition, please:

Make sure your music is clearly marked for the accompanist.

Those without sheet music will not be permitted to sing.

Your audition time is 2 minutes

Please check in one hour before your appointment time in the lobby of the University Theatre.
Actors will be called by their audition numbers approximately 20 minutes prior to their audition appointment time slot. Please be in the lobby 20 minutes prior to ensure that you are present when your audition group is called and can be guided to the audition location.
To ensure a speedy check-in process, please have your audition number, time, and/or workshop schedule ready prior to check-in.
Dance callbacks & Singing callbacks will both happen on the same day as your audition, on-site later that evening.

If asked to attend the dance callback, choreography will be taught following singing callbacks, approximately 8pm.

If asked to attend a singing callback, please prepare a different 16 bar selection than you performed in your first audition. Singing callbacks will begin at approximately 6pm.

If asked to attend an acting callback, please stay tuned for more information, as acting callbacks will be scheduled and held via Zoom or at participating theatre companies' home locations at a later date.
Callbacks from the morning session of auditions (8:30 AM - 1:00 PM) will be posted at approximately 1:15pm.*
Callbacks from the afternoon session of auditions (2:00 PM - 5:30 PM) will be posted at approximately 5:45pm.*

The Audition Registration Fee is $50 for Non-Equity actors and 25 for Actors who are members of Actors' Equity Association.
Optional Add-Ons:
- Lunch and Learn with participating theatre companies: $15
- Workshops: $25 per workshop (workshop schedule TBD; you may express your interest when you register for an audition)
FPTA does not pursue funding from sources that directly compete with those utilized by our member theatres. Audition fees help us cover administrative costs and allow us to host these in-person audition events.
